World Journal: Europe - a shift to the right
In uncertain economic times, they score points with the fear of immigration and most recently reinforced by the fear of Islam. Right parties have advanced from the periphery to the center of society, government, education, they are more often tip the scale in terms of immigration policy, they push the established parties before it. In Italy and Switzerland far right rule already for years, as elected representatives sitting in the parliaments of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Hungary and the EU. In Belgium and the Netherlands they were down sharply in recent months. In Sweden they have for the first time since the Second World War II, the leap into parliament. In Hungary it was up to them to bring Premier Orban to power. In Germany, far-right talk with in two state parliaments.
The new right is flexible in appearance, it moves between rallies with boots and relevant symbols on one side and dinner parties of the society on the other side glances. They are located close to the people and uses modern marketing methods - and it is an international network.
