vs SSD. HDD

Increasingly, one hears of so-called Solid State Drives (SSD) . But what makes them popular and yet so expensive?

Normal hard drives usually have several magnetic "windows". A read-write head can magnetize each sector, then these disks in 2 ways and then interpret the magnetization again.

an SSD operates on the principle of a USB stick. Use a Flash memory. This drives the price per GB in the air.

But what are the advantages of an SSD?

fact that they do not read / write head they have are very shock resistant. The write and read head can no longer even slight movements on the discs collide. This makes them even safer for data security. This is just an important factor for laptops. Furthermore, it is
no noise by turning the wheels. They are a lot quieter.
The most important point is the speed. SSDs up to 10x faster than normal hard drives. You can achieve a reading rate of 300 Mb / s and beyond - this is noticeable!

It is often such that the disk is the slowest component of the computer. Thus slow down the hard drive out the whole computer.

BitPath says:
SSDs are at present too expensive - even for the reason that they offer very little storage space. However, SSDs are sure to be the future of hard drives. Who wants to establish itself still a hard drive, which should install the operating system and programs on the SSD. Moreover, caution should be exercised in the defragmentation. Whether to fragment the SSD is still very much discussed in forums. So, you better check anyway. This is of course the opinion of BitPath - Everyone can see the contrast.

What do you think of SSDs? Are they the future?

Here's a crazy SSD Video:
Here are closed 24 SSDs with RAID together and reaches a rate of over 2,000 Mb / s:
